Receptive to the Gospel

Building a strong foundation.

Global partner Shadrach* recently returned from a ministry trip to a nearby region that is closed to the gospel. The purpose was to encourage the 4 known believers in this area as well as begin to identify and determine if one of them may be a potential leader for this emerging home church.

“This trip was so fulfilling for me,” shares Shadrach. “More people were receptive to the gospel message than in times past. I was able to speak to a large gathering that I have never experienced since coming here.”

With the known Christ-followers, they continued their study through the books of Mark and Acts. Shadrach models a discovery Bible study method to help them learn to be self-feeders from God’s Word.

They spent their days studying and then reserved time in the evenings to share the gospel one-on-one with families. “If families were open, we shared the Jesus Film in the privacy of their homes or listened to audio Bibles,” shares Shadrach. “Our prayer was that 3 more people would decide to follow Jesus. God answered our prayer. One couple and another individual made professions of faith during our time.”

Shadrach is actively planning his return and thinking of creative ways to continue discipling these new believers.
